Farragut Lake State Park
Farragut Lake State park is a large park of well over 200 campsites spread out in several areas. It sits at the southern tip of Lake Pend Oreille. The sites may have been lacking in natural privacy barriers but were very roomy. Our site pictured was in the Gilmore loop, #311. We only got to spend one night at this state park and thus we did not get to see all that it had to offer and I know we missed out. The weather on our visit was extremely warm and we had a hard time finding a dog friendly beach area to cool off. So instead of sticking around the campground I got on the phone and tracked down a boat to rent the next day (see below for that adventure). We will return to the campground again on a future trip and explore more!

A Day on the Lake: A Day On The Lake rentals is at Bottle Bay Resort and Marina in Sagle, ID near Sandpoint on Lake Pend Orielle. When we arrived at the tiny little rental office it was pretty chaotic, lots of people arriving for their rentals. They keep their records on paper and the whole process was very unorganized. But...... all the hassle was worth it. The boat was in very good condition. It is obvious that they take pride in keeping care of them. We have rented other boats on vacation and we have never received the quality of boat operation instruction that the boat crew did here. We loved being out on the water in Lake Pend Orielle! It was a wonderful day on the water and well worth the money. Upon return the crew quickly ties up your boat, refuels, and lets you know how much you owe for fuel. And then you are on your way. I would not hesitate to rent from them again! Oh and I do need to mention as our pictures show... dog friendly!
