Whitefish Mountain Resort
Another ski mountain....... another flat great place to overnight with lift assisted mountain biking right outside the camper door. No frills, no services, but no cost in summer 2017 either!
Getting Here :
Just 7 miles from downtown Whitefish, MT. Head north on Wisconsin Ave, Wisconsin turns into E Lakeshore Dr and then you take a right on Big Mountain Rd. Once at the top stop into the lodging area to get instructions on where parking is allowed.

Downhill Mountain Biking at Whitefish Mountain Resort
We spent the night on 4th of July in the lower parking lot and then moved the truck and camper up to a nearly front row spot for a little daytime downhill fun. Great trails, great views, and a couple great crashes! Afterwards we celebrated a day of great riding with some delicious brews at Bonsai Brewing.... worth a stop!
Way back in 2003 when the mountain was known as "Big Mountain" we visited and took a ride up the chairlift to see the sights. I think this was the first time we saw downhill mountain biking and an new hobby was born....
Campers are great for getting a roof top vantage point for fireworks shows! Whitefish has a great one every year!
