When we think back on some of our best camping experiences, our minds will likely always think of this one. Our favorite kind of camping is free dispersed, near water. This one wasn't free, but at $16 a night for this waterfront camping without another soul around, I would happily pay. Pyramid Lake is one of the largest natural lakes in Nevada at 125,000 acres and is part of the Paiute Tribal Reservation. The west side of the lake is largely open for public camping, while the east side is not. Once you obtain your permit, which are now available online, there are several beaches to choose from and you can drive around the sand until you find the spot that suits you best. We stayed 2 nights enjoying the sand under our toes, the sun on our shoulders, relaxing on the paddle board, and having nightime fires on the beach.
So beautiful and so relaxing!
