Lakeshore RV - Chelan, WA
As I am uploading pictures I am surprised to find how often we camp in the snowy winter months, and how often the campgrounds are empty except for us. As is the case for the Lakeshore RV campground in Chelan. Come summer you won't be able to get a reservation in this park, but in January it was wide open! We have stayed here for many years to enjoy the Chelan WinterFest Festival in January. The park is within walking distance of town and is perfect for the festival weekend. You may notice the pictures are of different trucks and campers as we have visited this park throughout the years, see our The Wanderers page for our history of truck campers. We have only stayed in this park once in the summer months, and that was for a skydiving visit - see that adventure below!

We don't always use our camper for rustic dispersed camping, sometimes our travels lead us to major cities where most people would stay in a hotel. Whenever we can however we still take our home away from home with us. Frankly I like sleeping on my own bed, but it also allows for some pretty tremendous savings over hotel stays. And that savings can be spent on experience splurges like these......
Snowmobiling with Sharkey
I have officially found a new winter sport - snowmobiling! We did a guided snowmobile ride with Sharkey that left the Echo Valley area and went high up into the hills to a warming hut. It was an amazing experience and one I can not wait to repeat. The friends that went with us have already bought sleds and I predict if we ever get to move east where there is more snow, we will be towing a couple sleds behind our camper one day too!
Skydive Chelan.............. Get High - Drop Out!
Thanks to Skydive Chelan and especially Sonya for the most amazing jump experience. This was my 3rd jump, in 3 different locations and Skydive Chelan (click to visit their website) was by far the best. This was my first Tandem jump, my previous having both been static line jumps. The team here is topnotch and while they have your safety in mind first and foremost, they still know how to have fun. This jump was to celebrate my friend's 50th birthday and we chose the special winery jump leaving from and landing at Tsillan Cellars. You are picked up at the winery and any friends or family you have that want to watch can watch you land from here. Overall a top notch experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone or jump here again myself.
Chelan & Manson Fire & Ice Fest
Every January Chelan and Manson host a 2 weekend long festival of all things Fire and Ice. Ice Carvings, Wine Tastings, Champagne Tastings, Polar Bear Plunge, Christmas Tree Bonfire on the Beach, and Fireworks! It is always a great weekend of Friends and Fun!
