Fox Creek Campground

There is something about falling asleep next to the sound coming from a creek or tumbling river.....and those up the Entiat River Rd are some of my favorites in Washington.   This Forest Service campground is closed in the winter, but if you hit it early in the season just after the opening you just might have the campground to yourself.  And just up the road still find yourself some snow to play in too!   This forest service campground sits 27 miles up the Entiat River Rd so it is a drive from any town, adding to the appeal and the lack of crowds at this campground.  There are 16 sites that are all first come first served.   There is potable water available and a vault toilet.  The sites are mostly large and well separated so even if the campground is full you will not feel too close to your neighbors.  This visit we were in site 8 which sits right along the river.   In early spring the river is rushing so keep this in mind with small children or curious pets!  The rate is $10 per night in 2018.  *since our visit they have closed several sites due to wildfire damage, including our favorite site 8.   Sad.... however all the closed sites are still available for day use, so if you get another site you can still come to the river's edge for a picnic or to sit and enjoy the rushing waters.  
Getting Here:  
​From Wenatchee, WA, take US-97A on the west side of Columbia River north for 14.4 miles to Entiat.  Turn left onto Entiat River Road and go 26.7 miles up the Entiat River Road to Fox Creek Campground on the left. 

Silver Falls Forest Service Campground

We did not camp there, but took a little drive up to check it out.  There are 31 sites in 2 loops, water & vault toilets.  30 miles from Highway 97A up the Entiat River Road.  
Driving logging roads with no planned destination leads you to amazing peaks and views!
