Wenatchee Confluence State Park
Wenatchee WA
This state park sits at the confluence of the Wenatchee and Columbia rivers, hence the name. It is a very wide open 197 acre park with 59 sites, most with full hook ups. It lacks privacy, but because it sits right in town and next to so much recreation opportunity, we have visited more than any other state park in WA. This park has one loop that is open year round and our photos will show many different visits, seasons, and campers (see our Truck Camper history here). The park has a great day use area for families to have picnics and swim. Boats can launch from the park to explore the Columbia River. And going right through the park is the Apple Capital Loop Trail which travels both sides of the Columbia River making a 10 mile loop with an optional 5.5 mile section up to Lincoln Rock State Park. This park is reserveable April 1 to Sept 30 which makes getting a spot in the summer hard to get. Recently Washington State parks have gone to a confusing pricing system based on the "quality" of the site..... I am curious what other Washington campers think of the new system?

Apple Capital Loop Trail
You can access this loop trail from Wenatchee State Park. The main trail is multi use for pedestrians and bikes, 10 miles in length, includes 3 bridge crossings and follows along both sides of the Columbia River. There are also several side trails some are pedestrian only. There is a 5 mile extension trail on the east side which takes you up to nearby Lincoln Rock State Park. Click here for the trail map.
You can get out to the riverbar by crossing a bit of water...... but pay attention as you sit out there, because the dam upriver can change the level of the water.... quickly!

Fellow Explorers..... Do any of you find geocaches when you are not looking for them? We have found several in our travels by just exploring, seeing something out of place, and asking ourselves - what is that? A fun little reward when you are not expecting it!
