Silver Falls State Park
Where you walk behind waterfalls!
For camping this is not our favorite park by any means..... small, brushy, not very private sites. However we do not come here for the camping.... we come for the waterfalls! The campground itself has 91 sites, 43 are tent only (no hookups) and 48 are electrical hookup sites. Some sites are open year round. There are also cabins for those that want to camp a little more luxuriously! There are bathrooms with showers, a playground, an off leash area for dogs, and a little bit of water access on South Fork Silver Creek. The State Park has over 35 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. The most popular - Trail of Ten Falls - is a 7.2 mile loop with 800 ft. in elevation gain and is rated as moderate. The variety of falls is amazing. The highlight is the walk behind 177ft. cascade of South Falls - a must do! Many of the trails are dog friendly, but unfortunately the main portion of the Trail of Ten Falls is not. We have pictures from 3 different visits shown below....
Summer Visit: This was a family visit and we had 2 sites side by side - #16 & #18.

How many of you remember how hard it was to get a "selfie" on a regular camera? We called them arm's length photos back then...we still do.... and it took several shots to get a "keeper"! Your head is in the way - my head is in the way - you cut off my chin - I forgot to smile - Looking back at them just makes me smile!
Finally...... Got it!!!
