Tillicum Beach Campground
Yachats, OR
The View from the Dinette Window.....
This is a very popular beachfront Forest Service Campground, and in all honesty, we would not visit in the busy summer months when every site will be booked and reservations are a must. However when you get a chance for some good weather in the middle of January and this campground is first come first serve in the off season.... you take your chances and head to the coast! There are 61 sites and many have beach views. Reservations are required March to October. There are hookups in some of the interior non view sites, but none of the beach view sites have them. There are central bathrooms with water and flush toilets, but no showers. The interior sites are forested and offer shade while many of the beach view sites are more open with more of a parking lot style parking than a private site. In January 2018 standard sites were $26/night & electrical sites were $33/night. The site we chose (#15) was one of these less private sites in the parking area, and from there it did not have much of a view, but once you climbed up into the camper and looked out the dinette window you were greeted by a fantastic sea view. In addition while the campfire area was very private and included lots of shelter from the wind, the bonus was not one but two private viewpoints! Another bonus, we tossed our chairs and firewood off the private viewpoint in front of our site and had a beach campfire.....in January!
