Hamma Hamma Campground
This heavily forested campground is located along the shore of the Hamma Hamma River in Olympic National Park near Hood Canal. Evergreen conifers and hardwoods provide lots of shade. There are 15 campsites that will accommodate tents and small trailers. Each site has a table & fire ring. There are vault toilets, and no potable water, but potable water is available at Lena Creek Campground 2 miles west on Forest Road 25.

A previous visit in 2003 and a hike on the Living Legacy Interpretive Trail with our beloved and missed dog Coal. The 1.5 mile trail offers a great right from camp interpretive walk that explains the story of the Civilian Conservation Corps and offers some great river scenery also!
Just a little up the road from the campground is the trailhead for one of my favorite "local" 3 mile hikes to a peaceful lake. It is extremely popular so hike midweek and have the lake more to yourself. There are campsites on the lakeshore often used by those overnighting before continuing on to Upper Lena. Here is a trail guide.
And while these were not found in the campground or on the Lena Lake Trail, they were found nearby. Nothing beats little wild blackberries and when made into a fresh homemade blended margarita... YUM!!!
