Taneum Creek Dispersed Site, Cle Elum, WA
Forest Road 33 20 miles Southeast of Cle Elum takes you to several Forest Service operated campgrounds along Taneum Creek. If you are traveling midweek or just get lucky you might also be able to snag this free dispersed site about 10 miles up FS Road 33. Great creek frontage with a gravel bar to sit your chairs on in the sun. Drawbacks are that it is a little close to the road and the pullout is very large....so you may end up sharing if you don't have a group large enough to take up the site. The creek has a deep enough swimming hole that our lab was able to dive after his ball. Probably dries up some in the summer. Our visit was the last week of March, first of April.
This area of the creek had a nice little deep spot where Mason could dive!
