Skull Hollow Forest Service Campground
Skull Hollow Forest Service campground is about 16 miles from Terrebonne, OR, south of Madras. It sits at an elevation of 3120. There are 28 campsites with fire rings and picnic tables. Some sites were double sites. The fee when we visited was $10 a night. We camped in site #12. Our visit was in late April and the campground was almost empty - 3 other campers. There are no hookups or dump facilities and no running water - you must pack in your own water. There were vault toilets and some porta-potties when we visited. It is a good base camp for several trails in the area, but sadly we were headed home after 6 days on the road and didn't get to try any of the trails. This was a nice quite campground that we will likely visit again.
