Lake View Campground
Stanley Lake, Idaho
While on a visit to nearby Stanley Lake Campground we checked this campground out and decided we would return in a couple days after a side trip to Sun Valley for a grocery reload and laundry day. This is a Forest Service first come first serve campground with only 6 sites, so snagging one could prove challenging. We checked out the tags at sites and saw when people were planning to leave and several looked like they were coming open about the time we would return. Upon our return 2 days later several were in fact open...... The one we had our eye on was still occupied but as luck would have it, they were packing up to leave. We scored site #6 which we thought was the best one for us - with plenty of room and a nice trail down to the lakeside! This campground sits at an elevation of 6537 ft., so it can be a cooler escape during the heat of the summer. Nearby Stanley has a small grocery and supply store, but it would be best to stock up on supplies before you make your trip here.
Note* - likely the site with the best wide open views is site #5, but it is a double site so the cost is double.
