Taneum Creek
Shadow Cr Rd Dispersed Site
Cle Elum, WA
A great dispersed site right on the creek. There are actually several sites here, pretty close together, so you may end up having company, or it makes a great site for a group. We have camped here several times, mostly in the off season as there are no campfires allowed April to October.
Getting Here:
From I-90 E, take Thorp Prairie Rd to NF-33/W Taneum Rd. It is a little odd because you exit the highway and then cross the highway and head east parallel to the highway for quite some time and then cross over again and are then able to head west on Taneum Creek Rd. The site is about 6 miles up Taneum Creek Rd on the left. You cross over a small bridge and these sites are on the right, also another one on the left.

Nearby Hikes, Bikes, & Other Sites
North Fork Taneum Trail #1377 & 1326. Just up the road from camp this multipurpose trail is great for hiking or single track mountain biking. We have biked it twice now and it is a great trail with a creek side stop for Mason to cool down, lots of on the edge riding, and trillium and other flowers along the way.
Driving logging roads in the area.....
Gooseberry Flat Trail #1227: Just up the road at the Taneum Junction Campground. We didn't walk too far down the trail, but the scenery here was very pretty and would make a nice spot for a peaceful picnic!
